Traffic Fines and Penalties in Delhi - in 2015 - 2016

Offence	Traffic Fine
Driving on One Way, Defective Number Plate	Rs. 100
Driving without Seat Belt	Rs. 100 for 1st time and Rs 300 for Subsequent Fine
Obstructive or Improper Parking causing Inconvenience	Rs. 100
Red Light Jumping. (Now Driving licence will be seized on the spot by police & suspended for at least 3 months)	Rs. 100 for 1st time and Rs 300 for Subsequent Fine
Breaking Speed Limit or Over-speeding. (Now Driving licence will be seized on the spot by police & suspended for at least 3 months)	Rs. 400 for 1st time and Rs 1000 for Subsequent fine
Overspeeding along with found accused of Dangerous Driving	Rs. 1400
Driving without License or Driving by Minor. Additionally, Vehicle is also liable is to be impounded by Traffic Police.	Rs. 500
Odd-Even Number (to be imposed from 1st January 2016 - where Odd registration number cars would be allowed on Odd Dates and Even Number Cars on Even Dates. Any Violation from 1st - 15th Jan by bring Odd Number Car on Even Dates or Vice Versa will impose Traffic Challan)	Rs 2000 (Head Constable & above can fine in for Violation)
Improper Parking & Disobedience Of Lawful direction	Rs. 600
Using Mobile Cell Phone during Driving by Driver (Other Occupants in Car are free to use Mobile phone, no offence then). (Now Driving licence will be seized on the spot by police & suspended for at least 3 months)	Rs. 1000 for 1st time and Rs 2000 for Repeat Subsequent Offence
Driving without having Insurance Copy in Car	Rs. 1000
Misbehavior with Traffic Inspector or Officer	Rs. 1000
Dangerous Driving (Red Light Jumping in some Zone - Lodhi Road Crossing, Tilak Marg Crossing and Prithviraj Road Crossing will amount to dangerous driving fine - between 9pm - Midnight)	Rs. 1000
Driving without High Security Number Plate (for New Cars in Delhi) Also - as its as per Supreme Court Order, so any Newly delivered vehicle found without HSRP is contempt of Supreme Court Order and is also liable to be prosecuted, if found without HSRP Plate.	Rs. 2000
Driving with a Car having Fancy Number Plate (with Stickers etc)	Rs. 2000
Vehicle without Registration (Unregistered Cars or New Cars without RTO Receipt) Additionally, Vehicle is also liable to be detained / impounded by Traffic Police.	Rs. 2000
Drunken Driving - Additionally, Vehicle is also liable to be detained / impounded by Traffic Police. Magistrate may impose fine upto Rs 2000 & jail upto 6 months for first offence and Repeat Offense will be Rs. 3000 Fine + upto 2 yrs Imprisonment. Offence is applicable for any person under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving found to have an BAC - Blood alcohol Content level exceeding 30 mg per 100 ml of blood detected by a breath analyzer	Court Challan

Generally one bottle of beer / 30ml Whisky / Rum will keep the person below the permissible limit of 30 units - Subject to vary basis the breath analyzer test and is considered an offence for BAC content > 30 mg
